"bohodogon once upon a star",  is a fashion line dedicated to create unique bohemian and folklore styles from all over the world. 

We use only the best fabrics, hand block printed designs, selected stitched using exotic and unusual prints designed especially by bohodogon.

Our concept:

bohodogon  once upon a star, works alongside tribal communities worldwide giving back and helping tribes financially, to create the perfect bohemian and folklore fashion items individually designed.

We feel that highlighting  different tribal communities and their ancient knowledge of crafting is an absolute necessity to understand how different tribes live in our times today.  

Never mass produced, but selected carefully with an insight and understanding to our ancient tribal ways, each piece is made over many hours and days even months using bohemian and folklore designs created by bohodogon.

I feel honoured and privileged to be working alongside the different tribal communities using their ancient knowledge and ability and being able to use my own designs, fusing a piece together with love.

I live on an Island off Greece, in a far away magical place most people would want to run away to. In fact I was one of those people who would sit in my office day after day and look out of my office window down into a grey smoggy city below and for hours dream about some far away place. What is Kantha?

Kantha,   i s a type of embroidery typical of eastern South Asia, especially in the Indian states of West Bengal and Odisha, and in Bangladesh. In Odisha, old saris are stacked on each other and hand-stitched to make a thin piece of cushion. This is normally used above a bed cushion or instead of a cushion. Kantha is a form of embroidery often practised by rural women. The traditional form of Kantha embroidery was done with soft dhotis and saris, with a simple running stitch along the edges. Depending on the use of the finished product they were known as  Lepkantha  or  Sujni Kantha . The embroidered cloth has many uses including shawls, covers for mirrors, boxes, and pillows. In some cases, the entire cloth is covered with running stitches, employing beautiful motifs of flowers, animals birds and geometrical shapes, as well as themes from everyday activities.
